Jack and Laurel attended the same elementary school, middle school, high school, and college while never crossing paths. Of course, they knew of each other - Laurel grew up playing softball with Jack's younger sister and Jack was on the high school basketball team. They had each other's numbers and had been friends on social media for years. In 2020, the pandemic caused Laurel to work remotely at her parent's home in St. Louis for a couple months longer than expected after graduation. Soon enough, a coworker convinced her to download Hinge - the dating app "designed to be deleted". Laurel figured she didn't have anything to lose and maybe a date could get her out of her parent's house for a few hours. Laurel and Jack matched on Hinge within a few days, and Laurel messaged first saying "Go Wolves" (their high school mascot). One week later, Jack and Laurel went on their first date on October 28, 2020. A few Blue Moons and a side hug later, they were smitten. About a month later, the day of their second date, Laurel found out work was relocating her to Nashville in just one month. They cheers'd, made the most of the few weeks together in St. Louis, and entered into long distance. While they took full advantage of many memorable nights on Broadway, Laurel realized quickly that home was where Jack was. She moved back one year later and they called The Hill, the Italian neighborhood in St. Louis, home until recently. On March 16, 2024, Jack proposed in St. Louis. He planned the day meticulously, not missing a single detail! They quickly set the date for October 11, 2025, which ironically might be the 5-year anniversary of Laurel downloading Hinge. Jack and Laurel recently set out on a new adventure and bought their first home in Denver, Colorado. They've loved finding their go-to coffee shop, favorite date night spots, and spending time outdoors with their dog, Reese! They could not be more excited for this next chapter of their lives to begin and to celebrate with friends and family in the city where it all began - St. Louis.
