I met Lina when she was born, and it was love at first sight! Growing up with Lina was exactly how the movies portrayed it, we were silly as children, awkward as teenagers, grew apart for a while, and came back together. I know I can always trust Lina with all my ups and downs. She is a loyal, compassionate and honest person who keeps me grounded, and reminds me that even if I don't watch the news...things are happening and I need to know. She is a true sister to me.

Alyssa and I met in college when both of us were trying to find a new roommate. I like to joke that in college it was like the high school popular girl meets the musical loving nerd, but really we were very compatible. After living together and graduating, we became more in sync. As Alyssa and I found ourselves as individuals, our friendship grew closer. I trust Alyssa and I know she'll always support me and challenge me, in all aspects of life. She is strong, independent, inspiring and confident which encourages me to live life to the best of my ability while accepting my mistakes.

Alisha, trained me for my first hotel job, with ease and friendly banter and it has always been easy to be friends with her. I think Alisha and I balance each other. We are both a little anxious and can be high strung, but we always want to help relax and help each other, so we generally stay at a good happy neutral. Alisha and I have grown both together and separately and even after long periods apart, we always come back together as if time has not passed. She encourages me, and she always makes me smile. She has an honest loyalty that makes a true friend. Her excitement for my happiness has always moved me.

I met Laure when I was in elementary school, but what I remember most is going to camp together. Laure helped me come out of my shell and explore nature and the world, in a new way. As we became adults, there were crazy nights and long days, and after a hiatus, I reached out and here we are! I am so glad to have rekindled my relationship with Laure and I know now that it can withstand any separation. Laure reminds me of the laughter, the joy, the excitement of life even on the hardest days. She inspires me to be a strong, independent person while also seeing the joy and love of being with others.

I met Lizzie playing "Butterflies" at A Child's Place. I can never remember who wanted to join who's game, but after all these years it doesn't matter. What matters is we played together and the rest is history. Even though she's been in a different state for so many years and so we don't talk or see each other regularly, and our bond of friendship has never been broken. Lizzie reminds me that it's okay to be quirky and fun, but also to pursue what you really enjoy despite any obstacles that may be thrown in your way. Lizzie is a true sister, our loyalty, trust, and life experiences will always keep us bonded.
