It all began in the back of the Russian Art classroom at UC Santa Barbara in the fall of 2017. Sam and Daniel would whisper inside jokes to one another during class, Daniel would copy off Sam's notes, he brought her a raw egg from his fridge (it's a long story) and the rest is history. Sam and Daniel were inseparable as they enjoyed study dates, evening strolls down Santa Barbara's State Street and camping out to watch multiple sunsets and sunrises... until Daniel left to become a Marine. There was a lot of visiting back and forth, but the distance began to close overtime. Daniel started in Virginia, transferred to Twentynine Palms, then Oceanside, and now the hunt for a home is underway! On the day he proposed, Daniel tricked Sam and told her that his promotion from 2nd to 1st Lieutenant would occur at the UCSB campus quad, and that he wanted her to have an active role in the promotion by pinning on his rank. Instead, he took her to the Russian Art classroom where he had asked her on their first date that very same day three years prior, and it was there that the two happily agreed to spend the rest of their lives together. Sam and Daniel want to thank you from the bottom of their hearts for rejoicing with them and supporting this new chapter in their life. They are so excited for what's to come and are more than ready to (finally!) close the distance for good!
