Situated at the extreme northern end of the Taconic Mountain Range, Bomoseen State Park provides a mosaic of forest, water, and open land on nearly 4,000 acres. Try out the Bomoseen hiking loop, a 1.5 mile hike that begins in the meadow behind the Bomoseen campground contact station, crosses the road and ascends into a meadow overlooking Lake Bomoseen. Near the top of the meadow the trail heads into the forest and travels goes through stands of white pine, hemlock and hardwoods. Vistas of Lake Bomoseen, Glen Lake and wetland.
The Castleton University Trails consist of about 2 miles of non-motorized, multi-use dirt trails in and around the Castleton University campus. Great for walking, biking or trail running.
Nine hole golf course located right on Lake Bomoseen. Course is walking distance from the lodge.

Exit 1, off I-89 three miles west on Rte. 4. The gorge is 165 feet deep and is the deepest gorge in Vermont. It serves as a popular tourist attraction in Quechee State Park and can be viewed from the US Route 4 bridge and from a trail. The Ottauquechee River flows through the bottom of the gorge and is a popular swimming area.
