Sophia laid eyes on Israel and the rest is History. Just kidding! These two love birds met at East Carolina University in 2019 where Israel was in the PA Class ahead of Sophia. The two of them were paired up together and Israel became her “Big Buddy/Mentor.” The perfect match some may say?! As the semester progressed, Sophia and Israel would always hang out in group settings with some of their best friends. There was no spark, flirting, or lovey dovey stuff at the beginning…it was just a natural and genuine friendship. But things changed (for Israel) when they went to the movies …alone! They went to see “Good Boys”, a rated R movie that Sophia had ZERO interest in watching. At this point, Sophia was thinking this was bonding time for her and her big buddy; however, this big buddy started catching some big feelings. Around this time, Sophia was told by two friends at different times how she and Israel would make a great couple (thank you for prophesying Meredith Williams and Katie Williford!). Shortly thereafter began the study dates, hangouts, Wilmington trips, and a special Psalm concert on November 16th, 2019 when Israel asked Sophia to be his girlfriend. She couldn’t resist and she said yes!! Fast forward a year and a half, and this couple has endured Covid times, Tik-Tok clout, career switches, and Israel’s forceful love of Mila (Sophia’s 4-legged daughter). It’s no secret that Israel sometimes has to fight for attention with Mila around. In all seriousness, God’s hand and divine plan brought these two world-changers together, and we cannot wait to witness a small glimpse of the unconditional love of the Father.
