We met through mutual friends sophomore year at Lockport High School. After a few failed attempts by Jason to secure a date, which included a Facebook direct message and an ice cream date during finals week, Lauren finally gave in. From then on, we had a typical high school sweetheart story between homecoming dances, class trips and prom. Off to John Carroll and Penn State we went, with some much needed time apart to realize what we were missing. We moved back to Lockport to spend lockdown with our families. We spent our time playing Wii in the Isherwood’s garage, walking along the Erie Canal and playing cornhole in the Donorovich’s barn, but always six feet apart. After a few months, we decided to give it one more try. In the summer of 2020 it was time for Lauren to head back to Cleveland, Ohio and Jason “conveniently” received a job offer in Cleveland. Jason moved in with friends and we spent our time exploring West Side Market, watching the Cleveland Guardians and finding a way to watch the Buffalo Bills every Sunday. After a year of living in Cleveland, Jason received a coaching position in Raleigh, North Carolina and we decided it was an experience of a lifetime. We packed up our lives, got a puppy named Harlow and moved south. We loved taking Harlow swimming in the lakes, exploring new breweries and BBQ spots and watching lots of college volleyball. When the volleyball season ended, it was time to move back north. We packed up our apartment in Raleigh, drove the U-Haul directly to a storage unit in Cleveland, and our friends met us to unload the truck (We paid them in pizza!). That night, we crashed on Megan and Evan’s couch and the next morning we toured a house for sale and instantly fell in love. It was a classic Cleveland home with a fenced in yard for Harlow. After the showing we drove back to Lockport, and on the way we decided to put in an offer. Three hours later, we were homeowners! A week after, we went back to Cleveland to visit friends, or so Lauren thought. Jason had other plans. December 11, 2021 Jason got on one knee and popped the question. We spent the night with family and friends dancing the night away at the Dueling Piano Bar in the Flats.
