Sean and Ellen’s first date was four years ago, in August of 2014 after meeting each other for the first time at Sporting Kansas City. Sean asked Ellen out on a date and they decided to meet at Pinstripes. The evening was going well. So well in fact, that they talked all night and didn’t even order food. The love-struck couple even had a random elderly lady come up and tell them and comment on what a great time it looked like they were having. She was right. They fell hard and fast: a first date led to a second, which quickly grew into love, and a journey to forever began.
Sean had the ultimate surprise up his sleeve as he, Ellen, Ellen’s mom, brother and Sean’s family vacationed in their favorite place, Cabo San Lucas. In order to keep the proposal a surprise he only disclosed certain elements of the “big night” to certain few—excluding her Mom because they are so close. He planned a night to remember towards the end of the trip at the perfect location for dinner and pictures atop the cliff-side restaurant, Sunset Mona Lisa. Prior to sunset and ordering, everyone made their way down towards the end of the restaurant's balcony edge to take pictures at sunset. Having the entire evening planned down to the final moment before the sun’s bottom tip began to dip behind the famous Arch at Land’s End he whispered to Ellen, "I have one more picture that I want to take." Even though the moment was shared with family and restaurant goers, it still felt as if they were the only two people in the entire restaurant. As everyone realized the moment they longed and waited for was finally upon them, Sean dropped to one knee and asked those four words. It was the best night to date for both of them and will be remembered for the rest of their lives.
