We’re getting married!

Imani and Chase first met working together at a Spanish tapas resturant in Atlanta, Bar Mercado. She was the restaurant’s host and he was a server. Throughout every shift, they’d share glances and pass notes further cementing their friendship as something more. Imani and Chase bonded over their love of travel, world culture and progressive politics. It didn’t take long for either of them to realize they were made for each other. Years later, neither Chase nor Imani still work at the restaurant that brought them together. However to mark their meeting place, they spend every anniversay at Bar Mercado.

While on an eleven day vacation in Hawaii, Chase set up the perfect moment to pop the question. With promise of seeing sunsets, Chase asked Imani to wake up early and get dressed up for some pictures by the sea. Imani had no idea what was in store and eagerly piled into the car at 5:45am for their next adventure. While in the car the sun begins to quickly rise in the opposite direction of where the car was headed. Chase assured Imani that they were going somewhere great and she, as always, trusted him. — 15 minutes later, Chase and Imani arrive on a secluded coast in Maui known as The Secert Cove. They step down the shoreline as waves crashed against the rocks and the sun barely began to pool through the leaves of the palm trees. Imani looks off to the waves and turns to see Chase shaking. After being asked what’s wrong, Chase assures Imani that the shaking was just from a strong cup of coffee this morning. Still trembling, Chase gets down on one knee as he presents Imani with a ring. The perfect ring, an ideal combination of some of her favorite rings that they’d looked at months before. Realzing what’s happening, Imani begins to tremble a bit too and slowly shakes her head yes while quickly taking the ring out of the box and places it on her finger. She asks Chase to stand up as he is still on one knee, holding an empty box and they embrace one another. A photographer than appears from no where to take a few great photos before Imani began to sob controllably for the next hour.
