While a dating app was the official medium of their connection, Henry and Iman actually met up because of their mutual friends, Price Karr (a Wharton alum) and Anna Myint (a Macy's alum, equally prestigious). Anyone who knows Henry and Iman knows their work and social schedules monopolize their lives, so it’s no surprise that it took six months of chatting and three reschedules for them to go on their first date! Leaning into his basic bro-status, Henry recommended they get drinks at The Nomad Hotel. Iman rebuffed the suggestion with something more charming: Rabbit Club, a sub-street level speakeasy serving craft, under-the-radar beers. It also happened to be 150 feet from her apartment. After all the reschedules, and given Iman’s long-standing aversion to dating, her sister Sarah walked her out of their apartment to make sure she took those 150 steps. She didn’t come home for over three hours. It was clear to Henry and Iman that they had a connection but in New York City, scheduling a second date is easier said than done. It ended up being a bit of a misadventure full of (more) rescheduling, day drinking, and meeting each other’s friends a little early (we’re saving the rest of the details for toasts.). Dates three to three hundred(ish) went swimmingly, and they’re grateful to all of the friends and family who forced them to take the first step!

Iman and Henry had discussed marriage (and engagement rings) enough to know a proposal was imminent, but Iman had no idea when it was happening or how. Around their three year anniversary, Henry surprised Iman with a trip to Greece. Booking the travel, a Greek photographer, and hard-to-get dinner reservations was tricky but the real feat was getting Iman days off without having her ask for vacation. Ever the negotiator, Henry made it happen. Henry proposed on the top of Acropolis in Athens even after Iman spent the day complaining about how slowly he was walking and how many times he had to use the bathroom. She ecstatically said yes, and so kicked off the process that’s taking them to the big day!
