We recommend flying into the San Francisco International (SFO) Airport, or you may also fly into the Oakland International Airport as it's a fairly short 25-30 minute drive into the city from there.
Since we will be getting married in the city, you can stay either near city hall or The Embarcadero (where we will disembark after enjoying our time together at the reception). Ideally, anything in the northeastern corner of San Francisco will be close to our wedding day locations if that's important to you. Otherwise, there are so many beautiful areas to stay in and we encourage you to enjoy yourselves while you're getting to know our favorite city. :) Some nearby hotel suggestions: 1. We will be arriving in San Francisco on Saturday, September 21, and will depart the day after the wedding on Tuesday, September 24. If you are planning to spend some time in the city before or after the wedding, please let us know because we'd love to include you in any planned group activities, outings, reservations, etc.
"Formal wedding attire sits between cocktail and black tie on the wedding dress code scale. It's slightly more elevated than cocktail attire and a touch less dressy than a black-tie nuptial." To put it simply, please wear black, formal attire to our ceremony and reception (don't worry, your favorite coats, shawls, etc. are acceptable for the reception... they don't have to be black, we want you to be warm and comfortable).
There will be plenty of time for you to arrange transportation from city hall to The Embarcadero before boarding begins at 5:30 p.m. The sunset cruise will depart from Pier 3 at 6 p.m. and last for a duration of three hours.
While we are keeping the exact boat a surprise for you to experience on the day of the wedding, what we can tell you is IT IS BEAUTIFUL and will fit the size of our anticipated guest count (approx. 50) very comfortably. Upon arriving, you will be welcomed aboard and guided to the reception where the crew will serve dinner, drinks (including beer and wine), and desserts. Of course, a reception would not be complete without dancing! Our onboard DJ will keep the party going as we enjoy an unforgettable night together overlooking the San Francisco Bay.
