It was 2015 and Michelle was being very vocal about the trials and tribulations of NYC dating at her agency when a coworker, Liz, said she had a guy she thought Michelle should meet. He was her boyfriend Mitch's coworker/friend, Ian. Michelle and Ian's first date was on a cold Wednesday night in February after work. They had agreed to a little wine bar called Sofia's in between their offices. After a few glasses of red, some great conversation and laughs, Michelle told Ian she had heard it was his birthday a few weeks earlier and asked if he would like a birthday shot at another bar. Almost as a joke Ian suggested getting pickle backs (Jameson shots with a pickle juice chaser). He thought it would be a good test. When Michelle gladly accepted the challenge, Ian took it as a good sign. Little did he know that Michelle had her own test for him. The bar she took him to was a karaoke bar. Ian passed the test with flying colors when he stepped to the mic first and attempted a rendition of "The Humpty Dance". Michelle then showed him how it was really done while singing Lorde's "Royals". It was truly one of the best first dates either of them had ever experienced. That night was just first of many fun and amazing times that Michelle and Ian have shared, growing evermore in love with each passing day.
