Our Story

One weekend Ian got invited to drive across the state to visit some buddies, on the other side of the state Maggie was invited to a night out with friends with the possibility of meeting a friend of a friend (of a friend). Ian arrived to Cheney, WA and ventured through obstacles (bars and frat basements) before finally arriving at his friend's house where he met the most beautiful girl dressed like a boxer (it was Halloween weekend). A week later Maggie was the one driving across the state to spend time with the guy she spent less than 48 hours with (hint: it was Ian). After arriving at a long dark driveway, questioning her life decisions, and coming to terms with the possibility of being kidnapped, Maggie and Ian spent a long weekend together exploring Kitsap County and Seattle, trying out the "boring" Ferry and seeing whales breeching, and meeting Ian's friends around the well known bonfire. They spent the next year and a half doing long distance while Maggie finished school at EWU (go Eags!) until she finally graduated. Ian valiantly drove back across the state to move her things into their new home, and a couple weeks later she joined him. They spent the first year in their home completing projects around their house, and rescuing their Duke dog. Finally, after Maggie waited *very* patiently for three and a half years, Ian proposed to her in their yard at home, she obviously said yes (after she nervously laughed for a few minutes convinced he was joking)!

About Our Location

Plain, WA holds a very special place in our hearts. We started *officially* dating here, said our first "I love you" here. We spend our winters snowmobiling, and our summers floating the river. It's a gathering place for family and friends where we share a lot of laughs and dance in the kitchen. A piece of our family rests in these mountains and it's a great joy and comfort that we get to add this important memory to this special place. We found the Brown Family Homestead and instantly fell in love and knew we were meant to get married there. We are so excited to share our paradise with you!
