Just a week before Julia returned to college, Ian decided he was going to do the proposal earlier than the intended December date. So, in a whirlwind process, the ring was picked, and the spot was decided upon. One warm, summery evening, with Betty (a Pomeranian) in tow, the two drove their way up into Rocky Mountain National Park for an afternoon of hiking and fun. Eventually, having climbed their way up a trail (Betty had given up long ago and was being carried at this point), they both paused in a clearing in the trees, looking down into the valley below, golden and gorgeous in the light of the setting sun. When Julia turned to Ian, he was down on one knee, a smile on his lips, a ring in his hands. It was the perfect moment to say "yes." And now, they're so excited to celebrate this next perfect moment in their lives with you. See you at the wedding!
While Julia will be starting her master's program at CSU in the fall, Ian will be finishing up his degree (and is debating a master's as well). After they manage to finally put their schooling behind them, they probably will not remain in Colorado. They both have aspirations to travel, find needy Christian communities to pour into, and hopefully discover lovely new homes (with cheaper rent) wherever they may end up.
