Her Story Casey and I first met while I was rooming with his sister, Mary Catherine, at the University of Alabama. Casey came over to visit with MC and it was just a quick hello. Fast forward several years later, Casey and I reconnected and he decided to drive from AL to TX to have our "first date." What we planned as a short weekend turned into two weeks together after his car broke down. The rest is history. His Story I went over to visit my sister at her apartment in Tuscaloosa while I was in my off-season for baseball. Mary Catherine's roommate was sitting there on the couch and that was McKenzie. All three of us sat and chatted for a while and I made sure to ask MC if McKenzie was single. Timing wasn't quite right then, so we can fast forward a few years later. I reached out to McKenzie and we finally went on our first date.

Casey knew me too well and he realized it would be hard to make this proposal a complete surprise. With the help of our families and my DCC Friend, Lexie, they staged the perfect proposal. I thought that I was attending a charity event for DCC. I picked up Lexie on the way and even had my uniform packed in the trunk. When we arrived at the Arboretum in Dallas for the "appearance," Lexie and I had our DCC luggage and it took several moments for me to notice Casey standing in the distance. Following this special and private moment, we were greeted by our family and friends to celebrate! It was truly the best night.
