We met at a crowded homecoming football game at Muhlenberg College in 2015, two freshmen introduced by upperclassmen on our respective basketball teams. Although Sara poked fun at Brendan for his college nickname - “Milk” - and his choice to wear flip-flops, she couldn’t stop thinking about him and the way he had made her laugh throughout the afternoon. The feeling was mutual: Brendan would later admit that he raced back to his dorm to change into sneakers before going out later that day, hoping to continue homecoming festivities with Sara. Their friendship grew steadily, and before long, it was clear there was something deeper to the relationship. Brendan asked Sara out over dinner just four months after meeting. Fast forward 8 years later: we moved into our first apartment together in Charlotte, North Carolina, grateful to call the same place “home” after internships and graduate school across the east coast. Brendan proposed during a morning walk along their favorite rail trail, catching Sara by surprise and including both of their families in the excitement! We are so thankful for family and friends who have supported and nurtured our relationship over the years, and we are thrilled to celebrate with all of you in August. With love, Sara & Brendan
