Hayden and I met in high school and were friends for several years before we started dating. The winter of our junior year, I went to a basketball game with one of my friends and Hayden happened to show up to the same game. He sat next to me and I instantly felt a new connection with him. A couple weeks passed after the game and I mustered up the courage to ask Hayden to our school's sweethearts dance, where it was customary for girls to ask guys. We started dating before the dance even happened.

Hayden, Braden (Hayden’s best man) and me went hiking in Elk River, Idaho at Elk Creek Falls a few hours before sunset. Braden had a nice camera with him and said he “just wanted to take cool photos” which wasn’t unlikely, but I was still suspicious. The hike was beautiful and we found ourselves at the foot of the waterfall before we knew it. I stood looking at the waterfall, asking Hayden if it was the tallest waterfall in Idaho like I had thought it was. When I turned around, Hayden was on one knee. It was beautiful and perfect. Hayden and I are so excited to celebrate with everyone! See you soon!
