We met at the line dancing/swing dancing bar Stampede. I know, I know—everyone who knows this bar is currently shaking their head. Now, hear me out. We both (before we met) always said, "I will never meet my spouse at Stampede." It is simply just not the place to go if you're looking for a significant other. But I (Karis) watched this man dance with his friends for about a month before he finally approached me and asked me to swing dance with him. And if you know me, you know I laugh a lot. Like a lot a lot. Especially when I'm nervous. The whole time we danced, I laughed like a crazy person, and I definitely thought he would never talk to me again. But as the night went on, more and more glances were exchanged, and when the place shut down at 12, there were four of us who stayed. My friend (and now bridesmaid) Lanie and I, and Hudson and his friend Jev all sat around singing, talking, and telling stories until 2 am. We migrated to a Jack in the Box and stayed until 3 am. Lanie and Jev tapped out at 3, and Hudson and I continued to talk until the sun was just about to rise. If you know him, you know how genuine he is and how easy he is to talk to, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to you. By the end of our many conversations, I was quite starstruck. The last thing I said to him was, "So when are we getting married?" Don't blame me for being bold; it's just who I am. But here we are, many dates and many adventures later, and I finally got an answer to my question! We are both beyond excited to celebrate with all of you and make our dreams come true!
