It was the summer of 2016. Hillary Clinton was going to be President, there was no worldwide pandemic, and things were generally good. Amidst this positivity, two sexy singles, Yonah and Housso, matched on a dating app called Hot Sauce Passions, no, okay, Gluten Free Singles, alright it was Equestrian Cupid, okay, okay it was actually Tinder (although those ARE real dating sites). Housso was a little skeptical of this whole internet thing, so we chatted for a month. We became Facebook friends, developed inside jokes, and almost randomly crossed paths in Pennsylvania- Housso was there rehearsing for a show (typical), Yonah was coaching basketball (also typical). Finally, we met. Yonah was late (naturally), but had his breathe taken away as soon as he saw Housso. We went inside and hit it off, sharing our passion for finding purpose in everything we do. Housso saw a friend from work, who commented that her date had a nice butt. Housso agreed. When Housso went to the bathroom, the bartender turned to Yonah and said, “wow, you can tell how much you two really love each other.” Yonah let the bartender know that this was our first date. For the rest of the summer, we saw each other as much as possible. We learned each other’s stories, laughed, cried, and shared more of our dreams and fears. Over the next few years, the love we have for each other- that even strangers could see immediately- continued to evolve. Housso got Yonah into yoga and plants, and showed him the importance of patience and self-knowledge. Yonah made Housso watch lots of basketball, and shared how to balance ambition and prioritizing time with loved ones. In December of 2019, Yonah took Housso to the same spots we had gone to that first date. Housso knew exactly what was happening, but pretended like she didn’t. In a private room in the same restaurant where we first connected, we got engaged. Now, we continue to celebrate our love in marriage, and are so grateful you’re able to join us.
