It all started when we decided to take a trip to Canada for the Police and Fire World Games. What an adventure to say the least!! We got into our rental and realized quickly this trip would be unforgettable. Words cannot describe the place we stayed in! Let's just say the shower was broken and the room we had to use the shower in had a bed hanging from the ceiling....No we did NOT use it...I was terrified! After that we quickly learned Canadian food is not our favorite, so the "dinner" he planned at the beginning of the trip got canceled...then when he tried to propose at the room on the balcony...the owner decided to have a cook out! This poor man... it was our last night in Canada, last Hail Mary for a Canadian proposal. We got back to the room after a long day, and He suggested we "dress" up to go to the casino....Thats exactly what I did....I took my contacts out, put my glasses on with a nice sweatshirt and pants...HA! NOT DRESSED UP. He had to be fuming. When we walked in the doors of the Casino he immediately ushered us to the restroom...I just thought he really had to go...When I walked out of the restroom I saw several employees standing around....I immediately thought "oh no did I break the toilet?...knowing I didn't". Then I saw him standing there sweating like he ran a marathon..I started to wonder if maybe He broke the toilet.....He then asked me to take a picture with him...when I walked over, He got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked, I had to make him repeat it. I SAID YES...of course, or we wouldn't be here planning a wedding. Our proposal story is just another chapter in our book of life. Everything isn't perfect all the time and most of the time it doesn't go as planned. No matter the route we take, we take it together. The good times, the bad, the funny and the sad. We do life together. This is what our love is, simply rolling with the ups and downs and always putting each other first. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. Please join us at our reception. Make sure to RSVP so we can plan accordingly. -Shawn and Amanda
