Studying for her LCSW exam at a local coffee shop, Maddie noticed a cute boy but thought nothing of it. Many coffees (Maddie), frosty sweet drinks (Brandon), and stolen glances later, he finally said "Hi." After a month of getting to know each other, they finally had their first date. Four hours into the date, the restaurant was closing and Brandon knew Maddie was the woman he was going to marry.
Casual dating was never in the cards for Maddie and Brandon. After three months of dating, a freak accident set them on the path to engagement: New jobs, a global pandemic (while living with Maddie's parents), a new puppy, a new house, and now a wedding.
What started out as a ploy to take "engagement pictures" of Maddie's sister and brother-in-law ended with Brandon on one knee at UNCs Botanical Gardens. After about 45 minutes of Maddie unknowingly taking sham photos, Brandon gave the signal and the camera switched hands. Down on one knee, adrenaline took over, and suddenly there was a ring on her finger. Later that day, Brandon surprised Maddie (again) with an engagement party. It was perfect.
