It was Wednesday, April 18th, 2018. I was meeting my friend, McKenna, for happy hour and I passed by a girl who I immediately recognized from work sitting next door at Wine Wednesday. As I walked by, all I could think of was “did she see me? If she did, did she recognize me?” A little later, my friend and I decided it was time to move to the next spot and I mentioned the girl from work next door...not trying to sound too excited, I suggested that we go check it out. We were seated at the table next to Shannon and her friend, Brennan, when she stood up and passed by me. I hesitantly stopped her to ask her if she worked at my office (I knew she did...we would come face to face with one another at least 5 times a day but never spoke or knew each others' names). We awkwardly exchanged a few words and she kept walking. Little did I know, Brennan convinced Shannon to walk by me and she was just as nervous to see the cute guy from work...Shannon still credits Brennan for us meeting in the first place....I say its a combo of both our friends making this happen. Soon after, McKenna went to chat with the ladies, a few minutes went by as mustered up the courage to join them. Unlike our previous interaction, we had an extremely relaxed and fun conversation and I began to learn how special this girl is. As the night continued and the wine was flowing, we all decided a game of shuffle board and a night cap were in order at the notorious Goat Hill Tavern. Shannon and I hit it off and agreed to take the following day off from work and spend it together. Neither of us expected the other to follow through! We saw each other every day for the next week and I knew that I was hooked forever. I even told Shannon "I love you" just 5 days after meeting. Next thing I knew, I was planning on asking her to be my wife. It was July 4th, 2019 when she agreed to make me the happiest man on this planet. I love you so much, Shannon!
