I (Dan) tripped Holly up right at the finish line... just 3 months before graduation I told a few of her friends that I thought she was cute. We had an awkward meeting at Pickles (thanks G!), before really hitting it off at the Phyrst a few weeks later. Neither of us had slept much in 46+ hours before this night (THON), Holly of course hadn't washed her hair, and despite explaining to her that I took my shirt off when I wanted to go home (get kicked out) - she gave me her number. A few days later, I took her to Chili's for chips, salsa and beer - the rest was history.
Just a few (7) years later, we bought our first house together. I (Holly) was convinced I would know when the proposal was coming, but that week I was wrapped up in planning the move around my work schedule. Dan told me his sister-in-law was stopping by to photograph us (thanks Lindz!) with the sold sign, which I tried to protest given how busy the day would be. Fun fact - we were locked out of the house for the first 2 hours we owned it, during which Lindsay snapped a few pictures of us, and then Dan dropped on one knee ("what do you say, kid?"). I was SHOCKED, but not as shocked as when our parents waltzed around the corner just a few minutes later... Unexpected bonus? Paula and Laurie proceeded to unpack our whole kitchen that afternoon.
