Kyle and Nikki met at Iowa State University in the fall of 2017. Kyle was beginning his sophomore year and Nikki was entering as a freshman. They met in the halls of Buchanan dorm and began to know each other while watching football games, the Office, and attending events with mutual friends.

Nikki and Kyle continued dating even when living in different parts of Iowa. The semester after meeting, Kyle worked at an internship in West Des Moines while Nikki remained in Ames. The two would take turns driving the 45 minutes to see one other. The next year Kyle worked in Ankeny for a semester and we continued to travel to see each other on weekends.

Our third year dating was never dull. Nikki’s heart decided that it was time to finally get ablations and a PFO closure at the same time as a global pandemic. Kyle was with her every step of the way. The two moved in together and both worked at Menards during this time. After recovering from the four surgeries Nikki got a job at Royal Flooring in Des Moines and Kyle began working remotely for Trimont.

In the summer of 2021, we moved to Overland Park, Kansas where Kyle began to work in person at Trimont. We welcomed our fur child Zara into our family. She is the funniest and brightest part of our days. We recently purchased our first home in Raymore, MO and are renovating currently. We love Kansas City and will rep the Chiefs for every game.
