Dalton and I met through his brother Dustin and a few of our mutual friends. Small town kids, intermingling schools, drinking illegally in a field somewhere is a great way to meet new people and make new friends! Over the years, as we got older and the parties became more legal, we would continue to hang out with friends and just have a good time, Dalton would casually to ask me on dates and I casually turned him down, multiple times. (Poor guy). Dalton would message or snap me every once in awhile, then it became more and more often until it became everyday, and starting in August 2018 it became a "Good morning beautiful" message every single morning. (which he still continues to this day.) Eventually, he finally convinced me to go out to dinner with him (I am a sucker for free food), where I witnessed a soft, cuter side of him that I did not know. He also called me a cheap date. (That has changed). Fast forward to Thanksgiving of 2018, we were at a friendsgiving at Dani and Spencer's house and everyone was buying tickets to the Luke Combs concert in Wichita, Dalton looked at me and told me I was going to go with him whether I wanted too or not. I said sure why not? Free concert! Lastly, end of December at the Wheaton Christmas party of that year, after hanging out at his place with grandpa Tobe, Dani and Spencer, we decided to go see what this party was about. Walking in, talking to people, I decided to hold Daltons hand and I haven't let go since. What turned into a moment of weakness and booze induced feelings, became the best decision of my life. Dalton later looked at me that night and asked if we could try being together "It can't be the worse thing in the world, right?" "We won't know if we don't try." Dang it, He was right for once. His persistent, stubborn ways finally got him what he wanted and It has given me so much happiness since. Here is to the rest of our lives!
