We swiped right! Our first date was tubing down the Pembina River the weekend of Music Fest in Langdon. Laura was nervous driving up to Langdon alone, just in case, she let friends know her location. Good thing when she met Luke, she knew going forward Luke was going to be the sweetest guy she's ever met. Luke was a little nervous when Laura pulled up to meet for the first time, but leading up to that fateful day the conversation between the two had been natural from the start. He tried his absolute best to make sure she was comfortable throughout the day. Our first date was filled with much laughter, good company, and most important, our last first kiss.
We had a modeling photo shoot scheduled with Megan, the owner of Dragon Rose Photography. Before the photo shoot, Luke, being sneaky, sent Megan a message and asked if he could turn our modeling shoot into an Engagement session. With our 5 year anniversary coming up, Laura had a hunch that a proposal was going to be happening soon. If you know Laura, it's not easy to surprise her! She has a good recognition of most peoples behavior (especially) Luke's. Like when he suggested white as a nail color the day before. Laura wasn't completely surprised, but was filled with so much joy that she finally gets to marry the sweetest guy! Leading up to the day of the proposal proved to be slightly challenging. There were many things to line up and keep a secret, like delivery of the ring, so Laura wouldn't find it the day Luke picked it up. Luke also picked a day near our anniversary, but not on the actual day to try to throw Laura off a little. That obviously didn't work that well. Luke couldn't help but be a little nervous, but thanks to a long trip home from a work meeting, he had plenty of time to really practice what he wanted to say. So when that special moment finally came, he was ready!
