Why July 6th?

My mom, Kim Brown, actually recommended this date for us and planted the idea of a 4th of July themed wedding in my head. I fell in love with that immediately! Ironically, the closest Saturday to the 4th of July was July 6th, which happens to be the feast day of Saint Maria Goretti (my confirmation saint and patron saint).
