Blue Ridge Highway
The Blue Ridge Parkway is part of the National Park Service and is known as America's Favorite Scenic Drive. The 469-mile ribbon of road weaves around the peaks of the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains. There are plenty of overlooks where you can get out and take in the view, as well as access hiking trails.
Hiking!
There's incredible hiking in Asheville, Black Mountain, and Montreat. The Lookout trail in Montreat (not far from the wedding venue) is a steep climb, but provides stunning views of the Seven Sisters ridge. Follow the link to find more hikes in the area.
Lake Tomahawk Park
Grab a coffee or some grub and enjoy the view of water and mountains :} A paved path goes around the lake and there is a playground for those with kids.
Swannanoa Valley Museum & History Center
This is for all you history buffs who may be interested in learning a bit more about the town Jeffrey grew up in (Swannanoa). Free museum about the Swannanoa Valley and Black Mountain communities.
Cousins Cuban Cafe
We've only eaten here once but it was delicious! You can't really go wrong with any restaurant in town, though.
Biltmore Estate
Visit the Biltmore Estate, home of the wealthy Vanderbilt family. There are tons of different tours and activities to do depending on your interest including walking the gardens, touring the house, or doing a wine tasting at the winery.
