We first met on Easter last year at a church called CMC in New York City. John was visiting from Washington DC that day. Inae was serving a group of newcomers, and John, though not new to CMC, somehow ended up joining her welcoming lunch table. John claims that it wasn't love at first sight -- he had no intention whatsoever to date anyone at that point of his life. Inexplicably, he ended up texting Inae everyday after that day, sending her a lot (yes a LOT) of photos (like, a picture of his breakfast plate) before they met again in Washington DC after three weeks. When Inae came to DC to visit her law school friend, John went to Union Station to pick her up, only to drop her off in 20 minutes at her friend's place and promptly went home. The following day John took Inae out for dinner and talked about urban planning and transportation (and of course, shoes) for two hours (John can be talkative but he did go over the limit that night, guess he was nervous?). Yet John and Inae ended up meeting every day that weekend. Before Inae returned to NYC, we had dinner at a Spanish restaurant where John had a sudden realization that Inae was the girl that he should marry. When John was about to leave Union Station after Inae boarded the train, he went back and got on the train without a ticket (in case this makes you wonder, yes you can buy the ticket on the train). In the cafe compartment of Amtrak, John asked Inae to be his girlfriend ... all the while having M&Ms and orange juice. And as you all know, Inae and John have been planning their future together since then. And we would LOVE you to take part in our wedding, whether virtually or in person!
