Maid of Honor
This friendship is bold to say the least. Anthea is someone who challenges others to become their best selves, yet also appreciates them for their quirks. She's a loyalist and she's not embarrassed by who she loves. I mean, it's no secret I wore some pretty loud Goodwill outfits to every Berry function but I tell you what, I never walk into an event as confidant that I'm about to crush the dance floor as when I walk in with Anthea.

Steadfast is the best word to describe this friendship. We used to eat our lunch in the library because we wanted to ditch the crowd, and we've picnicked on a hillside in Prague to celebrate how far we've come. Caroline is literally crossing oceans to stand by my side on my wedding day and that kind of love is powerful. A teacher once told me, you're lucky to have three true friends in this life- and I think about that every time I get a letter postmarked from the Czech Republik. Also, she has the most beautiful hair.

Big cousin Sam was too cool for me when we were kids, but now I'm too cool for her. Just kidding- she's been like a sister to me over the last few years and you can always catch us sharing a wry look at any occasion.

Perhaps we could have more "important" political or financial conversations if we'd stop laughing so hard at bachelor memes. Nonetheless, Elizabeth became my friend at a Hotel restaurant in Berlin and she's been nothing but generous to me with her words and support ever since. We share a similar love for life, and life loves us right back.

Fun fact- I'll also be a bridesmaid in Shannon's wedding this fall! As kids we always talked about our goals for the future and it makes me really proud to see those dreams coming to fruition for the both of us.

Savannah Banana. We've always shared a common appreciation for the little beautiful things in nature. Ethereal, gentle, talented beyond measure. The kindest person in any room- unless someone starts crunching ice. Then watch out.

Kristen and I are the most separated in age, she being the first daughter of her family and I being the last of mine, but don't let that fool you! We both share a curious resemblance to our great grandmother in our eyes and we both have similar hearts- meaning we both tend to cry in public. Unashamed.

When Thomas broke the news to his family that we we're dating, Cassady didn't bat an eye that I was a cougar aka Junior dating a freshman. She's someone that looks at people right to the core and doesn't judge them for anything on the outside. Over the spring break that I was supposed to meet Cassady and her husband, I had an outpatient surgery and wasn't supposed to travel but I was dying to meet this woman Thomas spoke so highly of. When we got to North Carolina, we were met with hot soup and an easy weekend full of hospitality. Cassady is going to be an amazing sister in law and an even better mother. She and Kasey are expecting their first child, and I'm going on record that I think it's a girl.

Berry is a small world- I knew both Haley and her now husband Methus Weldon before I ever met Thomas. Haley was my cohort director for the Gate of Opportunity Scholarship and we worked in the same office building while she was at Berry. She loves celebrating love, and had the biggest smile on her face when she ran up from the bushes she and Cassady were hiding behind when Thomas proposed. It still blows my mind she's going to be my sister in law, and I'm so glad to finally have sisters!
