We met in college at UW-Madison sometime in mid-January of 2016 through our mutual friend, Hannah, while helping her with a babysitting gig. She knew that I had babysat before and that Nick was going to school for teaching, so who better to ask? If I'm being honest, I purposely was trying to wrangle the kids in the room Nick was helping in so I could get his attention, and if you ask Nick, he asked Hannah for my number while I went to the restroom. Funny story - my number was already in his phone from a year prior when I lost my wallet at Mifflin - but thats a story for another time. Fast forward a few weeks of hangouts, getting our friend groups to go out together, or studying together, Nick thought it would be a very smooth-move to do our first kiss in the lobby of College library after studying one day. Just a tinnnyyy bit awkward! With our friend groups merging throughout the rest of college, we helped introduce some of our best friends, Anna and Taylor, that same year, who now have a baby girl Lucy together. (*You're welcome guys*) A key moment of Summer 2016 included Nick's family taking me up to Door County with them over the fourth of July that summer. If you somehow don't already know, Door County is very special to Nick's family, as they have gone up at least once every year for his entire life together. It is a particularly special place that holds memories of his late Pappy, who loved it up there. Since this first trip, Door County has remained a special place for Nick and I, as we tend to visit it a few times a year during each season - yes, even during winter! Fall of 2016 I studied abroad, and though leaving the country for 3 months could be tough on a new relationship, I think we can both agree that it made us stronger and helped build our budding relationship into love. It's hard to remember everything that has happened over the last seven years that led us to this day *finally* happening, but a few key significant times are: *Moving in together after graduation (but we don't talk about our closet of an apartment on State Street)* *A million trips up to Door County, enjoying all seasons and bringing anyone we can with us!* *Trips to Florida, New Jersey, Philly, California, Colorado, Arizona, camping trips, up north, and many more places* *MANY Badger games, Brewer games, Bucks games, and Packer games* *Getting MOOSE in 2019* *So many of our friends getting married and including us in their big day (many people in our bridal party are married to each other)* *Moving to Milwaukee in summer of 2022* *And finally, Nick proposing on August 6th, 2022 in Door County, with both of our families there to help celebrate. Somehow, I had no idea he was doing this at this time!*
