Mike had been working full-time as a cook at Octane Bar & Grill in Wisconsin Rapids for about a year. That summer, Carla decided that since most of her friends were in relationships and their schedules were much busier, she would make some extra money by picking up a part-time summer job as a bartender. She got hired there, and on her first day of work, June 15, 2012, Mike was the first person Carla met when she walked through the door of Octane for her first shift. It took about two hours into her shift to realize Mike was going to be trouble (in the best way, of course). Mike and Carla were friends for a while, spending time hanging out while we worked shifts together, sometimes gambling too much on the machines, sneaking some of the pickles out of the giant pickle tub, and blaring music from the jukebox. Eventually, Mike finally gave into Carla's charm (haha), and their friendship turned into more. Somehow, Carla's summer job turned into a five-year part-time job, a boyfriend, and new life-long friends. I don't think anyone expected that little Octane romance to turn into the life that we've built together, but we are both forever grateful for Octane and Mike and Kellie Osborne, because without them and that bar, no one would be here today :-) Mike and Carla are registered at Target and Amazon.
