Our Decision to Elope...

Wow! We're getting married! While this is the happiest time in our lives, we understand that it hasn't come at such a convenient time for our loved ones. After countless hours of prayer and discussion, multiple venue tours, a ton of research, and a few shed tears (by Hannah, of course), we have decided that it is smartest and safest for us to elope. Though we have not been together long, we don't want to wait for COVID-19 to disappear before starting our life together. In September, we will be tying the knot and enjoying our honeymoon at a beautiful resort in Cancun, Mexico! We hope that everyone will understand how hard this decision truly was. We cannot thank you all enough for your endless love and support. Keep an eye out for future announcements because we will ABSOLUTELY be having a huge party to celebrate when our lives get back to normal! With love, The Future Henschens

Best. Day. Ever.

Let me tell you about the best day of my life! Chris had a whole date day planned and wouldn't tell me a single thing other than to wear a dress and "look cute". Thanks to corona, we hadn't had an actual date in months, so I was absolutely giddy to get a whole day with my guy. I went to Chris's apartment, and he met me outside with a hug and a card that read, "Scavenger Hunt Clue #1". A scavenger hunt? Since when was Chris creative? Who cares about the details; I was excited. Clue #1 lead me to where we first met: Campisi's. I had to go inside, tell them who I was and that I was there to pick something up. Awkward, right? I received a handwritten letter (swoon) and Clue #2 that he had delivered earlier that day. Next up: Drew's house (one of our friends' houses that we hung out at before officially dating). There I got another letter (double swoon) and Clue #3. Our third destination: Ida Claire—our first date! Waiting for me there was yet another letter (triple swoon) and Clue #4. We headed to Dan's house (another friend and where we spent NYE together) where I was given another letter (quadruple swoon) and Clue #5. The final destination to our scavenger hunt: Watermark Church. Although this isn't where we met, it is the reason why. We met through mutual friends from Watermark and have attended together ever since. Once we got there, Chris had me sit in a rocking chair out by the pond. He pulled up another chair and started talking about how much he loved me. I'm still clueless at this point and low key distracted by him messing with his boot. Next thing I know he is on one knee asking me to marry him! My first words were, "Whar, really?” then "Will you put it on me?" to which he responded, "Will you answer my question?" I couldn't say yes fast enough! After we became officially engaged, Chris had a whole afternoon of celebration planned with my loved ones. My heart was overflowing! Best. Day. Ever.
