Breaking News: As of 08/10/20. It is with very mixed feelings that we share with you that Old Dominick Distillery has canceled our wedding reception due to the pandemic. We are still so excited to get married as our love must go on. With that said, we will keep our initial wedding plans and only be having our wedding ceremony in Memphis at Second Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. We are working with our videographer to setup live streaming our wedding ceremony for anyone to join us virtually! As we get closer to the big day we will send out the website and all of the information for you to attend our wedding virtually. For any local guests who would still like to attend just our wedding ceremony in person please RSVP for the wedding ceremony, additionally please note that all guests will be required to wear face masks and will be seated in a socially distanced fashion to give every attendee the safest experience possible. We know that in this pandemic season of life there have been so many challenges and changes for each and every one of us, but one thing that has been constant for us is the love of our friends and family. Thank you all for your beautiful wishes and words of encouragement, they have brought us so much joy in this time! We honestly see this reception cancellation as a blessing in disguise and are just happy to know that everyone can join us for our wedding ceremony virtually and keep everyone as safe as possible. We hope that once things go back to a more normal and much safer place in life that maybe one day in the not so distant future that we can invite you all to join us in Memphis, TN for a fabulous Memphis reception party!
Greg and Katie were a blind setup. On this fateful weekend when Katie was visiting San Diego for a childhood friend's wedding (Thank you Brooke Gestrich Felty and the Gestrich Family!) Greg's childhood best friend Jimmy Pinkerton introduced Katie and Greg over a text message. At the time Katie was living and working in San Francisco and Greg was living and working in Laguna Beach. Little did anyone know that this introduction would lead to marriage!
Greg and Katie continued to talk daily following their introduction and after almost 2 months of chatting blindly over the long-distance Greg flew up to San Francisco to meet Katie in person for the first time! This trip marked their first date.
Greg pulled out all of the stops. While on their annual trip to Memphis for the Fourth of July holiday Greg coordinated with Katie's family to surprise her with the most thoughtful and heartfelt proposal! Greg arranged for dinner at Katie's favorite restaurant followed by drinks at sunset on the rooftop of The Peabody Hotel where he got down on one knee and proposed! Immediately following the proposal, Katie's cousin Elizabeth popped out from behind the bushes on the rooftop to reveal that she had been his partner in crime and had gotten photos and even spoken with a photographer who happened to be on the rooftop at the same time and caught the very moment in photos! Following the proposal, Greg brought Katie downstairs to find her family and oldest friends were in the lobby ready and waiting to celebrate! The celebration did not end there, the annual Hendrix family Fourth of July pool party was transformed into an engagement celebration filled with love and loads of bubbles! Greg thoughtfully worked with so many loved ones to make it truly a memorable proposal!
