How We Met

Started off as fellow temps, ended up in a life long bond

When William and Anita met back on August 9th 2010 they just clicked immediately. Anita was 20 years old and had just graduated from Brooklyn College & decided to get a long term temp job to gain real "office work experience." Anita's supervisor introduced her to William (a 24 year old seasoned temp) and asked him to show her (the new temp) the ropes of this boring job. William's energy was chill. He was a gentleman, easy to talk to, great listener, and a God-fearing family man. Anita's energy was radiant & full of positivity. She was a God-fearing family woman, caring, social butterfly/networker, who spoke from the heart. Although opposite in so many ways, (extrovert/introvert, dramatic/monotone, talkative/quiet, social maven/homebody) they just worked! From the beginning, William had Anita's back. He led her in prayer with everything that she confided in him with. They had so much fun together, whether it'd be fun doing nothing, chilling, freestyling (so many bars ), or just being silly together. They even binge-watched TV shows on their lunch breaks together until upper management shut that down (ie: Jersey Shore, Happy Endings, Real World from season 1-100, The Challenge, Revenge, etc.). They became the best of friends, two peas in a pod, taking 15 minute breaks together to just take a walk, going to industry event after event, going to church events, building inside jokes & quotes from day to day, and really vibing over the years. From building bonds with each other’s family members at family events to meeting each other’s friends, weekend trips, travel adventures, partying, and hanging out!

The Proposal

She Said Yes!

After William found the ring that he thought would be perfect for Anita he now had to come up with a plan on how he was going to surprise Anita & propose to her. He knew that he wanted his & her family to be present for the proposal, but he needed a legit reason for them to be in the same place at the same time. Being that his birthday was coming up, William thought to have a birthday dinner at his childhood home which his family & her family would attend and that would be the perfect time for him to pop the question. And that's exactly what he did. After dinner was complete William began to open birthday cards & gifts. He then opened a card that was given to him by his sister (she was in on the plan). What was written in the card was worded in such a way to sound as if it was actually from William's sister to William but in fact it was something William had written for Anita. After reading the card, Anita had no idea what was coming next. William then opened a big gift box, and inside that gift box was a ring box. To Anita's surprise, it was a "gift" for her. Very shocked at what was going on, she was finally catching on to what was happening. William got down on one knee, and after waiting for his future mother-in-law to FaceTime Anita's sister to view the proposal and then him rambling for a few minutes to Anita, William finally popped the question to Anita. And of course she said yes! After celebrating with a champagne toast and a few pictures with their families, they headed out to Caribbean Social (restaurant/lounge) to celebrate William's birthday with a few friends. At least that's what Anita initially thought when these plans were made a week ago. However, once they arrived at the spot, she was surprised by some of their closest friends & family. What Anita & all the guests thought was a birthday celebration, turned out to be an engagement celebration. The night was full of love and happiness with loved ones.
