For our wedding, we will be having a full Mass that will be about an hour and a half. Programs will be provided to help you follow along in the Mass. In the Catholic faith, only practicing Catholics in a state of grace receive Communion, out of respect for what Catholics believe about the Sacrament. If you'd like to receive the Sacrament of Confession before our wedding, it is available at St. Mary's Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Only practicing Catholics in good standing may receive communion. There are many serious reasons behind this, but please know it is not to be exclusive of anyone. Non-Catholics are invited and welcome to receive a blessing, indicated by crossing your arms over your chest as you approach the priest, or, you may simply remain seated in your pew.
No. The wedding ceremony is not the Vigil Mass, therefore it does not count towards the Sunday obligation.
