Travel Note

The Island

It is one of the most remote locations in Michigan! There is only a general store/gas station that has LIMITED items (do not rely on this for stuff you need, bring it all over) and one tavern. There is a lot of wildlife (highest whitetail deer population- be on the lookout) and roads are unpaved. Feel free to bring fishing poles (will need MI fishing license), ATVs/ORVs, hiking shoes, etc, the island offers a true outdoor experience :) Again, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like more details!!

Travel Note

The Ferry

There is a ferry that will take you to and from the island (Plaunt transportation). You will have to pay per person ($22) and will have the option to take your car ($79.25). *CASH ONLY* There are certain times the ferry runs, please check the 2023 schedule (ARRIVE EARLY). Please reach out and we can explain this further if needed!

Travel Note

Lodging

As for lodging, it would be best to stay on the island, however, options are very limited. There is a bed & breakfast on the island and a few Airbnb’s/VRBOs. If there is nothing on the island, there are hotels on the mainland. Please reach out if you need help on where to stay!! We will have a charter boat (if needed) to pick people up from the island Saturday night.

For all the days along the way
