Ruben and Heidi worked for her mom during the summer of 2008. Heidi's mom tasked Ruben with driving Heidi to her singing auditions. This job also entailed getting her coffee and food, reprinting her resume every single time, and generally serving her every whim. Young and silly, they refused to consider these dates, believing they were just friends. Driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, Heidi and Ruben fell into an awkward and exciting silence; Beck's song, "Think I'm In Love", came on. The song was written for that moment and every moment since.
With one of their many favorite albums playing and tea lights shaped into the words, "marry me" burning brightly, Ruben got down on his knee and narrated his and Heidi's musical romance. He shared a special journal of all the albums and songs that they had fallen in love to. He presented a special ring, asked for her hand in marriage, and became the happiest man on Earth. The rest of the night, they read; they listened; they fell in love again.
