There was a saying out there at the time when both Heidi and Austin were wrapping up college to the tune of “all of your problems will be solved if you simply just, move to Denver”. Although this statement is entirely false, it was the city where two unsuspecting 20 somethings met and fell deeply in love. Tired of the isolation COVID brought, both Heidi and Austin decided to give Hinge a try. A cute Corgi in Austin’s photos and the University of Vermont in both of their descriptions, demanded a swipe right. Turns out (although only one of them claimed to know the other while there) they both went to UVM at the same time and moved out to Colorado only a few months apart. Since it was during the height of COVID, Heidi and Austin had to spend the first few weeks messaging back and forth, playing Connect4 online and waiting until Heidi got back to Denver after staying in Seattle for the first few months of COVID. Fast forward to May 18th 2020, they were able to finally have their first date. In the grass of Cheesman Park, they spent hours telling stories, getting to know each other and snacking on Austin’s famous potato salad. Now, 4 years later to the day, they are celebrating their love and joining two families into one.
