The Wedding Website of Sarah Simms and Héctor Ramos
We recommend that you fly into Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport, which is a short ride (10-15 minutes) from the most popular areas in San Juan. Uber and Lyft are widely available and generally inexpensive throughout San Juan--it is the method of transportation we recommend to visitors planning to spend most of their time in the city. A wide range of accommodations are available in the city to meet most price ranges. We and several members of our wedding party will be staying at the Gallery Inn, while Sarah's family will be staying nearby at El Convento. What these two hotels have in common are a deep connection to the history of Old San Juan and close proximity (a 2-5 minute walk) to Iglesia de San José, where we will have our wedding ceremony. However, each one has its unique flavor, described below. We welcome anyone who would like to join us at either hotel! We have also listed a couple of alternative options below.

Hotel

The Gallery Inn

204 Calle Norzagaray, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico
 (787) 722-1808

This is the hotel where Sarah, Héctor, and some of their wedding party will be staying from August 2nd-8th. The Gallery Inn has a big personality--owned by an artist who renovated the original structure after discovering it in ruins, the hotel is filled to the brim with art, history, and several parrots. Its eccentricity is part of the charm, but we recommend it only for those who will enjoy the hotel's idiosyncrasies (and won't mind sounds of the lively nightlife across the street in La Perla).

Hotel

El Convento

100 Calle del Cristo, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico
 (787) 723-9020

As its name indicates, El Convento was once a convent in Old San Juan, but has in more recent years been renovated into a lovely hotel. Sarah's family will be staying there, and they would welcome the company of any family and friends who would like to join them there. We recommend this hotel for guests who would like a polished experience while remaining immersed in the lively atmosphere of Old San Juan.

Hotel

San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

1309 Ashford Avenue, San Juan, San Juan 00907, Puerto Rico
 +1 787-722-7000

We recommend the Marriott for guests who would like immediate access to the beach. This hotel is located in a really fun neighborhood called El Condado (where Héctor grew up!), and is surrounded by many restaurants, cafés, shops, and parks. Note: while El Condado offers gorgeous ocean views, and is a great spot for sunbathing and walks along the water, the surf is often too rough for swimming in the area directly in front of the hotel. However, the Marriott has a very nice pool area right by the beach. For especially calm ocean waters in San Juan, we recommend that you take a quick walk to the Playita del Condado or take Uber to Playa Escambron.

Travel Note

Airbnb

While we've listed a few hotel options above, we encourage you to look at the many options available in the city. We also suggest checking out the many AirBnB rooms/homes available in Old San Juan, Condado, and Ocean Park. We have been pleasantly surprised by the affordable options available during our past trips to the island!
