Two of our best friends decided that the two of us would be a good pair, so they planned a night where Tyler and I could meet... I wish I could say that it was love at first sight, but instead, it was just one big awkward interaction. Tyler loves bringing up the fact that he thought I asked him to sit next to me and then when he did, I squirmed away like he had cooties.
After that awkward night in February, we didn't talk much until that June, where we all went to the track together for the boys to ride. To make things even more awkward, I was hanging out with one of his good friends the whole time. However, I did notice that Tyler was flirting with me and making eyes at me the whole time. After that day, we didn't speak much until the next month... where I went over to our friend's house (he lived next door to them) after a terrible first date. He came back home and we all were hanging out, that's when I noticed how much I was laughing at his jokes, how pretty his eyes were, and that I liked being around him. After that day, we never spent another day apart.
Tyler proposed to me during our maternity photos at Dawes Arboretum. We spent the day taking beautiful photos all around Dawes, near the time of closing, I realized that I didn't have many solo shots of me and wanted to grab some before we left. So we drove around the park looking for a perfect spot, we pulled over to get them... as I was posing, Tyler kept getting in the picture and as I get pushing him away to get out of my shot, he dropped to his knee and asked me to marry him. I wish I could remember exactly what he said, but I kind of just blacked out. He had dropped hints for weeks that he was going to do it during these pictures, and I'm kind of glad he did, because I almost got freaking oranges on my fingernails for our baby shower which was the following day.
