Welcome to Our Love Story

John and Heather met on the Fourth of July and in one afternoon, Heather learned three very important things about John: One, he loved playing guitar; two, he preferred porter beers, and; three, he was absolutely terrible at badminton. John on the other hand mistakenly made three very incorrect assumptions about Heather. One, that she was very outgoing and sociable (because she was so chatty with him), two that she was very athletic based on her stellar badminton skills, and three that she only thought of him as a friend. The beginning of their love story started off in friendship where they would hang out at their favorite neighborhood haunt, Hops on the Hill (a.k.a. "Hoth"), and bond over shared interests in Star Wars, gypsy jazz, video games, and Twilight Zone. John eventually grew to admire Heather's killer trivia knowledge while Heather loved listening to John passionately speak about science, music and philosophy. Their friendship might have gone on forever until one dark winter night in February, John finally got the hints Heather had been throwing at him for weeks and he made his first move - grabbing her hand as they left the bar and pulling her in for a kiss. They were able to experience their first adventure together -- a romantic date night at Hotel Murano and McMenamin's Elk's Temple -- before the world completely stopped; the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down. For this introverted couple however, they managed to make do with several cozy nights in, snuggling with the kitties, reading books, and playing Rayman Origins and Gauntlet Legends. Heather expanded John's repertoire of films with movie nights-in, while John showed off his insane tolerance of spicy foods over several take-out orders of Buffalo Wild Wings. By the time the world began to open back up again, these lovebirds were in it for the long haul. They made their first nest in a little apartment in Lacey before ultimately finding their dream townhome in 2023. The couple loves their lazy Sundays spent reading, playing games or occasionally watching ridiculous reality shows. They also love playing tennis in the park, kayaking in Budd Bay Inlet, bike rides around the neighborhood, going out for sushi or tacos, bingo nights at Briggs Taphouse, and coaxing friends and family into a round of dominos. Heather and John could not be more excited to be getting married and spending the rest of their lives together. They look forward to new experiences, such as their first international trip abroad in 2025, exploring new places around the Pacific Northwest, buying their first home together (hopefully!), and also spending the rest of their days knowing they have each other to lean on. ---- We also can't wait to share this moment with you!
