We wish we could remember the exact moment we first met…but we’re both pretty sure it was the first all-departmental meeting in August 2014, when Sarah entered Central Connecticut State University as a music major. Sarah was trying to find her place in the close-knit department. Joe was something of an icon already (it’s hard not to like him!) We shared a few classes together and were friendly, but not friends…yet.
Eventually, our paths intertwined and we became better acquainted. Our friendship began one evening in the music tech lab. At the time, Joe was working overnights at a hotel, and lifelong insomniac Sarah was always awake to respond to messages. In the midst of personal turmoil, we realized how much we had in common and began talking regularly. It didn’t take long for us to become good friends. Sarah would show up to the hotel at midnight, just to hang out. Joe would walk to Sarah’s house even when she wasn’t home, because he knew he’d always be welcome. It’s hard to believe we didn’t know it then!
Finally, after several years and a global pandemic, we fell in love. Sarah made the first move one evening in October, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We knew very early on in our relationship that we were soulmates. Together, we performed at Carnegie Hall, graduated college, and moved into our first apartment.
Finally, in a private ceremony on May 9th, 2024, Sarah and Joe became husband and wife. Though not without its challenges (including a tornado warning,) we couldn’t have asked for a more romantic day. We can’t wait to share our story with you on October 18th and celebrate our journey to the altar.
