Megan's Hinge dating app profile said: "What I'm looking for in a wedding date is...you're in it to win it for every dance off." Mike commented: "Every dance is a dance off." This was the first good sign. Their first date was on December 19, 2019 at Zuni Street Brewing in Denver. Some of the available drinks that night were Lord of the Rings themed. Another good sign. After many successful dates including top secret concerts, delicious meals, interactive art exhibits, advanced cocktail mixology, and an underground burlesque circus, Megan asked Mike to be her boyfriend on March 10, 2020. Three days later, the apocalypse began. Megan lived with roommates but spent weekends at Mike's place. She quickly fell in love with his desire to financially support the local BIPOC owned shops and restaurants. They exhibited supreme dance skills when Megan's DJ friends hosted themed quarantine dance parties over Zoom. They road tripped out to Reno and the Bay Area to meet one another's family during their first Christmas together. A few months later, they went snowshoeing for their first anniversary. Soon after, Megan secretly bought a black silicone ring, knowing she would propose to Mike one day. Little did she know, he would make her wait another year and half to do so. Mike bought a house in Denver in April 2021 and invited Megan (and her cat, Sugar) to move in with him. After discovering their inherently different decorating styles, they managed to build a home filled with love. Mike learned to handle Megan's grad school freak outs with grace, and Megan learned that Weekend Mike is slightly more fun than Workday Mike. In May 2022, they adopted a sweet dog named Callie. Sugar was not pleased at first, but has since come around. Megan and Mike enjoy discussing their day on their evening walks with the dog before watching TV with the cat on their laps. Megan proposed to Mike with that same black silicone ring on October 1, 2022. Luckily, he said yes, and they went to a delicious 10 course tasting menu dinner at Beckon, followed by cocktails at their favorite coffee shop turned evening bar.
