We are thankful to our family and friends who were able to make it out from near and far to share our special day with us!! It was truly a wonderful day. Now that the planning and day of wedding dust has settled, we are anxiously waiting for our honeymoon this September. Since I couldn't decide on which 5-star hotel in Stockton to choose from for Marcy...I had to downgrade the level of excitement she would've had staying on the rivers edge, with just a trip to Maui and Waikiki for 9 nights. I know, boring right..... (why go to Hawaii when Carmel is just down the road)
Marcy and Hayves met online through the dating app Match.com, where Marcy had seen Hayves' picture and thought he was handsome. It also helped that his profile picture included his dog, Kody. Being that Marcy is an extreme dog lover, she felt Hayves was a great choice to consider and decided to contact him. The two communicated briefly via email, and made a plan to meet. They met for a lunch date at Mizu's sushi restaurant in San Jose. On their first date, they laughed and had a great time, and decided to make future plans to see each other again. The rest is history......
Marcy & Hayves never thought they would get married again. When they first met, neither wanted to have more kids, or wanted to get re-married. It remained an agreed upon idea between them for many years. The relationship was great! However, about 4 years in, their love for each other intervened. After attending a few friends and family weddings, they started to actually give the idea some thought. One day, Hayves finished a store cupcake that had a plastic Spiderman ring on it and got down on one knee and did a silly proposal to Marcy. Marcy thought it was so cute and proudly put on her Safeway Spiderman ring and wore it for the day. When walking around the malls, they would often walk by jewelry stores, joking around and showing each other what type of wedding ring they liked if they were ever to get married. For about a year or so, they would talk about the reality of being married to each other. Over time, Hayves had cleverly taken notes while looking at rings, so he knew what style she liked. A few weeks before Christmas of 2018, he employed the help of Marcy's daughters and his daughter, to help him confirm his ring selections he had in mind. The girls were excited, Hayves was nervous, and the plan to propose to Marcy was officially in motion. A few days after Christmas, Hayves planned a family dinner at the house with all the kids. He was nervous the entire night. Shortly after dinner, Hayves got the nerve to go upstairs and grab the ring he had hidden. He told the kids to meet up in the family room and be ready with the phone videos. After taking a few holiday photos with the kids, Hayves positioned Marcy by the Christmas tree to take a photo with just her and then dropped down to his knee, and this time proposed for real. The kids all screamed in excitement as Marcy stood there completely in shock, trying to hold back her tears before saying, "Yes, of course baby."
