We met at Bar 'Cino in Brookline, MA. We were supposed to meet at 5:30 PM after work, but Andrew pushed it back an hour. Alyssa loved the forks, so Andrew dropped one into her purse so she could have it as a keep sake. To this day, we debate who technically stole the fork, but our connection was undeniable! Andrew shared all about his South Carolina-peaches-superiority-complex, and Alyssa embarrassed herself saying her 4 siblings is a big family before learning of his 12. Even with Andrew showing up late and Alyssa's (*cough* Andrew's) theft, the evening was filled with delicious drinks, pizza, and a lots laughing!
We were camping in York, Maine and preparing to hunker down for a thunderstorm, but the clouds looked far enough to hold off for one last beach walk of the trip. We took a seat in two white Adirondack chairs overlooking the rocky cliffs of Short Sands Beach and watched the waves roll in when he popped the question. It was sweet. There were happy tears. She got permission for the dog to call her 'mama.' It was perfect!
