We have been in the same place but at different times for our entire lives. We both attended Saint Francis University, but missed each other by a year. Zach went to pharmacy school in Erie where I grew up and I had rotations in Johnstown where Zach grew up. Ironically, I lived next to Zach's aunt and uncle without even knowing it. It wasn't until I took a job at Geisinger Medical Center where Zach had been working that our relationship started. It took some time, but eventually two of our mutual friends convinced Zach to message me. Our first date was at Old Forge Brewing Company in Danville, PA. Zach talked the entire time and I left thinking there was no way I would be asked on a second date!
Zach told me to get dressed up because he had planned a date night after we met with the contractor at our new house. I looked over at Zach and said "What, are you going to propose?" and he said "you caught me." We arrived at the house and while I was upstairs sorting through carpet samples, Zach disappeared downstairs. There I was yelling at him that we need to get things ready for the contractor and he's yelling at me to come downstairs. I finally go downstairs and he's down on one knee. At this point, I thought he dropped something on the floor. When I looked up, I saw both of our families huddled in the corner of our living room. Zach then pulled a ring pop out of his pocket (previously I told him I would marry him even if he asked with a ring pop). At that time, I still had no idea he was proposing because he had this running joke that anytime I brought up us getting engaged, he would add another month before he would pop the question so I was up to 2039 and clearly not expecting this. Then, he pulls out the ring box and it finally set in that this was the real deal. I was so shocked that I said "thank you" instead of "yes!"
