We met at the NCSU gym as “swolemates” but it was through our love of Christ and our aligned core values that we recognized we were indeed soulmates. We had our first date at Talley after talking at the gym a couple days. But as summer was approaching, we began paddle-boarding together back in our hometown. Wyatt asked Hayden to be his girlfriend in May after a day on the lake, watching the sunset, and eating Chick-fil-A on the tailgate of his pick-up truck.

Hayden thought she was going to the beach for a Bible study retreat weekend but little did she know, everything was a trick. Her friends wanted to take pictures together on the beach so they started walking down the closest beach access. She turned the corner, and in complete shock, realized Wyatt was standing on the beach. From there, Wyatt led Hayden to a special spot on the beach where Wyatt then asked Hayden to marry him. So much joy, happiness, and love! There is never a dull moment with Wyatt. Every date, every time together, he found ways to surprise her in meaningful ways from sticky notes on her car, to showing up at her house after school to take her for a drive with the windows down, to surprising her with flowers.
