It was our second week of work and Rachael was moving into her new townhome over the weekend. We found out we lived near each other, so I offered my help, assuming she wouldn’t take me up on it. Well, at 8am on Saturday morning after a night out with friends, I’m woken up by a phone call from Rachael asking if I’m still willing to help her move. “Yeah, I’ll be right over.” Having just moved to Houston and days into starting a new job, my parents happen to give me a call while I’m driving to Rachael’s to see how things are going. Sitting outside of Rachael's townhome, I end up cutting the call short and tell them I’m helping a friend move, to which my mom asks: “oh, what’s his name?”… Me: “uhh, well HER name is Rachael.” Mom: “ohhhhh, it’s a girl?! Is she cute?” Me: “Mom, it’s 8am on a Saturday. I’m hungover and helping her move. Of course she’s cute!”
