"What kind of books do you like?" started a conversation that has never stopped. In 2021, Aaron was visiting his childhood friend Joel, who had married Havilah's elder sister Hannah in 2015, and had recently moved to New Jersey to be closer to her family. Aaron had become close friends with some of the Shorten family, but had not met Havilah, as her work had kept her busy during his previous visits. On one night of the visit, after the household had mostly gone to bed, Aaron and Havi stayed up and began a conversation that would last through the night, the next morning, the next week, the following year, and now for the rest of their lives.

While we are choosing to have a private ceremony, we would still like the opportunity to invite you to celebrate our union with us as our friends, and family.
