We first met at a group called STARS in 2011. Danielle was invited to the group by her Youth Pastor, also the group's Director, and Kyle was a leader in STARS. We both still remember the moment we first saw one another; and while we didn't fall in love until years later, we had immediate respect and admiration for each other from the start. We developed a friendship founded on a shared inability to flirt like normal people; and a sense of humor that, while few others appreciated it, we found to be a charming quality in one another. Danielle's Take: Falling in love with Kyle was a completely different experience than what I had ever felt for someone else. It took me awhile to admit to myself that I had a crush on him mostly because it didn't feel like the other crushes I had before. From the moment I met him, I was fascinated and amazed by him. I had never met someone so genuinely kind and caring. I remember consistently thinking to myself that he was too good for me. I didn't just have a crush, I had respect for a man who I saw love others in a true and amazing way. Before I even fell in love with him, he made me want to be a better person. Throughout our years together, all of this has only grown to be more true. If anyone can believe it, he is even more incredible today than he was 6 years ago when we met, and I continue to fall more in love with him every day! Kyle's Thoughts: I remember when Danielle and I first met: I thought she was so cute in her hobo hat, and was thrilled just to get a simple high five from her that night. A friendship began. I found myself constantly picking on her not knowing how to interact with such a talented and beautiful woman. I later found out that she led worship at a local church, that she was an incredible leader, and that she would laugh at my jokes no matter how terrible. That's when I knew. She is the most incredible woman, and i am so blessed that such a beautiful and talented woman agreed to stand by me for life!

After church on a beautiful sunny day, Kyle took Danielle for a picnic at the scenic Mt. Falcon. He asked her to reminisce about their relationship, and the two exchanged their favorite memories and moments from the past several years. Then, Kyle took Danielle over to a beautiful spot on the edge of the mountain at a gorgeous overlook in the Rocky Mountain range. After sharing beautiful sentiments with her about his love and admiration for her, he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" Danielle's overjoyed reaction was caught on camera by the wonderful photographer, Mikala Drew, that Kyle had hired to capture every moment of the most exciting day of their lives so far.
